Peer Review Process

JNBR is committed to providing a rigorous and timely scholarly review process for all submitted manuscripts.

Pre-Review and Initial Decision

Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes a pre-review by at least one editorial board member. This initial assessment focuses on the manuscript's general suitability for JNBR and its potential contribution to the field. A decision on whether to proceed with full review is typically communicated within 2-3 days. Manuscripts deemed unsuitable for full review will be rejected promptly to allow authors to pursue publication elsewhere without delay.

Full Review and Decision

Manuscripts deemed relevant and promising by the pre-review process are assigned to a minimum of two reviewers with expertise in the field. Once the referees' reports are compiled, the Editor-in-Chief or an Associate Editor relevant to the topic makes a final decision and communicates it to the corresponding author. This typically occurs within 4-6 weeks of receiving the complete manuscript.

Revision and Resubmission

Authors are encouraged to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer feedback when appropriate. However, revision does not guarantee acceptance. Revised manuscripts must be submitted within 45 days of the initial decision date to be considered. Submissions received after this deadline will be treated as new submissions and may be assigned new reviewers.

Final Decision

The ultimate decision to accept or reject a manuscript, rests solely with JNBR based on the comprehensive review process.
